Supporting the Division Vision

The Principal supports and implements the vision of the Division at their respective sites.

District and School 3 Year Plan

Each year we develop and refine our 3 year plan by examining the 3 year plan as set out by the district.

District Goals
 1. Wolf Creek Public Schools’ Students are Successful
With the district goals in mind we chose to further develop our literacy programming for all students, working with Daily 5, Cafe, Leveled Literacy, STAR testing, Fountas and Pinnell. The use of these structures allowed us to program for all students and provide a response to intervention to our students most in need.

2. First Nations, Métis and Inuit Students are Successful
Our staff continue to learn and collaborate to increase their foundational knowledge at staff meetings.

3. Wolf Creek Public Schools’ Education System is Inclusive
Teachers work closely with the Inclusion Coach and administration to provide the best programming for each student. Staff collaborate and problem solve at every CRM meeting with the goal of supporting and guiding every student. We have a designated staff committed to coaching staff on First Nations, Metis, and Inuit  learning, a staff member working to implement and support our GSA, and a staff member identified as a literacy leader. These staff help ensure a board view of inclusion.

4. Wolf Creek Public Schools has Excellent Teachers, School and School Authority Leaders
With the district goals in mind we chose to further develop our literacy programming for all students, working with Daily 5, Cafe, Leveled Literacy, STAR testing, Fountas and Pinnell. The use of these structures allowed us to program for all students and provide a response to intervention to our students most in need.

5. Wolf Creek Public Schools’ Education System is Well Governed and Managed
We work closely with our stakeholders. Parents are invited into our building for many occasions in addition to the regularly scheduled school council meetings. We have experienced our best engagement at parent teacher conferences and project based symposiums. Parents seem comfortable with communicating with our staff and administration.

Staff Year Plan for PD

At the start of the year, we begin to populate a year plan of our staff meeting days. We add the CRM meetings, dedicate time for staff PGP development, and other essentials. As the month of September unfolds, we add more layers to the overview. This has been very helpful in keeping our goals properly prioritized.

Connecting with Other Schools and the Division

I have been taking advantage of opportunities to connect with other schools in our division. Our school used ELUS as a model for how to structure a school wide LLI plan. Every teacher went to visit and observe their program. I was an excellent collaboration opportunity. Since the, we have partnered with ELUS to provide an ATA presentation on teacher qualifications for both staff.

I have worked with IRJC to assist the in breaking down their PAT data so that they could dig into their data and create informed plans. I have also coached PES on how to aggregate their data to inform their staff conversations.

I will be leading a session for WCPS student teachers in April to prepare them for joining our substitute list.

Each of these opportunities have been enlightening for me as I get he opportunity to see how other schools operate.
